We are looking for someone highly experience in arts PR and events to join our client, an expanding contemporary gallery based in London.Their London space is one of a number they have worldwide so it’s important to have an excellent understanding of the global art market as well as good London based press contacts. Your role will include planning, developing and implementing PR strategies to maintain and raise the media profile of the company. You will also be responsible for organising and running gallery events, from private views to collector dinners and artist talks. This is an exciting and varied role within one of the world’s most respected contemporary galleries.

Overview of all courses

The Day Courses are run throughout the year, aimed at students wishing to develop their careers, learn about the art market and visit galleries and auctions to see the art world in action. Held at The Fine Art Society with visits to live auctions and galleries.

The Evening Panel Discussions are aimed at anyone who has an interest in the art world. They are being held at The Fine Art Society, London W1, and offer an opportunity to hear from leading art world figures about the market, collecting, investment and placement. The talks, discussions or conversations will be informal and last for about an hour, after which there will be time to socialise and enjoy the remainder of the evening.

The Morning Studio Visits will be focused on visits to artists’ studios to see the processes involved and discuss the challenges of being at the creative end of the art world. Planned for this year are visits to the studios to Mat Collishaw, Polly Morgan and Gavin Turk.

The Venice Academy was first held over the Biennale 2011 and is planned and booked for Biennale 2013. The idea is to introduce the internal mechanics of the international art world through a series of lectures, seminars, studio and exhibition visits. With its tradition of contemporary art activities- the Biennale, the Architecture Biennale, the Venice Film Festival, the presence of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection of 20th century Art, and Francois Pinault’s two major collections of contemporary art at the Palazzo Grassi and the Punta della Dogana and the Prada Foundation, Venice has always been at the cutting edge of the art world. We have brought together a team of international experts who speak about their specialist subjects and can provide a personal connection to the art world. Course are limited to twenty people and the course last ten days.

At least five years of relevant experience is necessary, as is the ability to investigate and assess claims, often of a very high value, and liaise with clients and staff with all related enquiries.

As well as managing and having responsibility for national and international shipping and storage, you will have control of the bespoke database. This will involve managing all aspects of the inventory both in the gallery and in the warehouse, using Photoshop and archiving systems to maintain all information. The role will also involve overseeing the gallery team with production and installation of all exhibitions, assisting with catalogue production and other publications such as press material, newsletters and invitations to events.
