Specialist SearchesWe are assisting an international auction house build up their departmental teams and need experts in Photography, Jewellery and Contemporary Art.
If you have been working as a Specialist in any of these fields for at least five years we could help you become a Head of Department in either London or New York. You will act as a primary business getter focusing on extremely high end property, whilst developing new and maintaining existing relationships with buyers and sellers. You will have a detailed knowledge and understanding of the international art market, of the established collector base and a solid general knowledge in your field, with extensive valuation experience. You will manage your own department and report directly to the CEO.
Whilst these are the three main areas of interest to us at the moment, we are often asked to fill other Specialist roles, particularly in Old Masters and Asian art. We also have good relationships with the Managing Directors of all leading international auction houses and bring to their attention those people who we feel could be an asset to their company. Our client has a strong history in the field and wishes to promote this department further by investing in a new Director to manage all sales and acquisitions on behalf of their clients. They would ideally like to hire someone with an auction house background or certainly someone with the ability to research, value, promote and sell works of art. The role will be based in London but with frequent overseas travel. The Specialist will be responsible for managing three other members of staff so experience in team management is also desirable.
