Director, Gallery, New York
Our client, a contemporary gallery, is looking for a Director to join their team in New York. The Director will work with the sales team to develop and execute a sales strategy to drive private, institutional, and primary and secondary market sales; maintain the gallery’s current client base and develop new relationships; represent the gallery at relevant global events, acting as a figurehead and striving to build upon and enhance the gallery’s reputation; initiate institutional placements and acquisition funding opportunities; and contribute to the artistic direction of the gallery by collaborating on exhibitions from a sales perspective, among other duties. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of global art market trends, experience working with high-profile artists, and an established client base and institutional relationships. Candidates with 5+ years’ experience in sales role with an art gallery, and proven experience meeting and exceeding competitive sales targets are invited to apply.
