Our client, an Artist Foundation, is looking for a Director of Residency to join their team. The successful candidate will champion the Foundation and its residency’s mission and foster a supportive and inclusive environment for the artists it serves. The Director’s responsibilities will include: leading the strategic planning, development, and implementation of residency programs in line with the Foundation’s mission and vision; championing a positive culture and establishing protocols for artist invitations, evaluations, and feedback; developing new program initiatives to expand the Foundation’s mission; collaborating with the Foundation’s Executive Director to refine the artist selection process; building partnerships and outreach initiatives to strengthen the residency’s ties to local, national, and international art communities; developing and maintaining relationships with community stakeholders to ensure the Foundation and residency are active contributors to the local cultural ecosystem; collaborating with the COO to develop the annual operating budget and oversight of capital improvement projects; and leading and mentoring the residency team, among other duties. Candidates with at least 10 years’ experience in arts or nonprofit management including 5+ years in a leadership role, and proven experience in program management and community engagement are invited to apply. Preference will be given to candidates who are open to working in Florida year-round, though we are also considering candidates who could at minimum work there during the duration of the residencies.
