Our client, a well-established New York gallery, is looking for a Director to join their team in a crucial leadership role. The Director will work with the sales team to develop and execute a holistic strategy to drive private, institutional, and primary and secondary market sales; maintain the gallery’s current client base and develop new relationships; represent the gallery at relevant global events, acting as a figurehead and striving to build upon and enhance the gallery’s reputation; initiate institutional placements and acquisition funding opportunities; and contribute to the artistic direction of the gallery by collaborating on exhibitions from a sales perspective, among other duties. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of global art market trends, experience working with high-profile artists, and an established client base and institutional relationships. Candidates with 5+ years’ experience in sales role with an art gallery, and proven experience meeting and exceeding competitive sales targets are invited to apply. Salary is commensurate with experience, and this role is commission and bonus eligible.
