Our client, a blue-chip gallery, is looking for a Cataloguer / Researcher to conduct art historical research on works of art for archival, exhibition, sale, and acquisition purposes. Reporting to the Director, the successful candidate will support the accurate cataloguing of works, including provenance, exhibition, and literature histories, market research, and images. The role will also contribute to the research and production of sales and exhibition materials, from individual artwork cataloguing to writing notes, essays, talking points, and presentations. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of 19th and 20th-century art history in Europe and the Americas, with experience researching Modern or Post-War art particularly welcome. Previous experience in a gallery, museum or auction house is preferred, alongside strong written and verbal communication skills, meticulous attention to detail and experience physically inspecting works of art. Familiarity with ArtLogic, Photoshop and InDesign would be advantageous.
