SML AND MARGUERITE: SOPHIE MACPHERSON DISCUSSION WITH TIM MARLOW, ARTISTIC DIRECTOR AT THE ROYAL ACADEMY OF ART
On Wednesday 9th October, Artistic Director of the Royal Academy of Arts, Tim Marlow spoke with Founder & Director of SML, Sophie Macpherson at the discussion co-hosted in partnership with Marguerite. Prior to his appointment at the Royal Academy, Marlow was Director of Exhibitions at White Cube for over 10 years. Marlow has been involved in the contemporary art world for the past twenty-five years as curator, writer and award-winning radio and television broadcaster. Having trained as an art historian, he has also worked with many of the most important and influential artists of our time. Marlow sits on the Board of Trustees for the Imperial War Museum, Sadler’s Wells, Artichoke, Art on the Underground Advisory Board, The British School at Rome and Cultureshock Media. Sophie and Tim discussed his career to date, the difference between working in a commercial gallery to a public institution and his next step as Director of the Design Museum.
