Director of Exhibitions Management, Art Museum, Los Angeles
Our client, a leading Art Museum in Los Angeles, is seeking a Director of Exhibitions Management to join their team. Reporting to the Founding Director and COO, this newly created role will oversee the strategic planning, production, and execution of exhibitions and installations across the institution. Responsibilities will include managing relationships with institutional and external partners to expand the Museum’s exhibition reach and revenue potential; identifying and developing new exhibition opportunities; and promoting the Museum’s projects to peer institutions and prospective collaborators. Additionally, the Director of Exhibitions Management will direct the business and operational planning for traveling exhibitions, permanent collection rotations, and special initiatives; lead exhibition design, production, and implementation; and oversee project planning for new exhibition spaces and major renovations. The successful candidate will also mentor and develop the Exhibitions team, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and forward-thinking culture that champions accessibility and multilingual engagement. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in the art and museum field, outstanding communication and project management skills, and a proven record of leadership. Candidates with 7–10+ years of progressive experience in exhibitions within an institutional setting and a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role are encouraged to apply.
