Our client, an international blue-chip gallery, is seeking a Gallery Administrator (Admin & HR) to join their team in New York. The successful candidate will play a key role across both front of house and HR administration. Responsibilities include line managing the front desk team and ensuring all front of house duties are met, including maintaining high standards of phone etiquette and communication, ensuring press releases and exhibition lists are available for visitors, preparing price lists, and organising couriers, among other tasks; working alongside the Director of Operations to assist in the development of annual NY administrative budgets; diarising gallery events and coordinating the sales team rota as required; assisting the Director of Operations in managing the visitor experience across gallery premises and related properties; ensuring the gallery is stocked with relevant sales catalogues and publications, and managing offsite book storage and catalogue inventory; overseeing the front desk bookshop and online gallery bookshop; ensuring HR payroll and administration practices comply with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations; administering bi-weekly US payroll; managing US benefits and enrolments; assisting with onboarding and offboarding administration; and managing and overseeing the intern programme, among other responsibilities. Candidates with strong administrative skills, experience managing US payroll and benefits, and knowledge of current HR state laws are encouraged to apply.
